This is a year round occurence for me, but far, far worse in cold weather. My new top is probably 50% heavier than it was before the weekend's rides and that is mostly my DNA. Bits of frazzled tissue litter Lancashire's cycle paths, my gloves look like 1000 snails creeped over them.....
I think all this is probably inevitable, but does anyone have any ideas for a REALLY good barrier cream or similar to avoid the chapped nose and upper lip. Vaseline has been tried and is a bit heavy and annoying. I've been using L'Occitane lip balm, but at a fiver a pop, I'd rather not.

I get an emollient cream over the counter from the Chemists called - *goes and checks*

Oilatum - it's a non expensive thickish unfragranced moisturiser. Might be worth a go. I did have a different brand last time but there's no noticeable difference. Have a word with your pharmacist.

Or try using a pair of earplugs?

Learn to Snot Rocket.....I suffer a drippy nose all year........ practice targeting !!

 that sort of happens anyway, like a vapour trail out of a plane! The trouble is, Punkypossum is almost always sitting on my back wheel and she tends to moan a bit!

Turn your head slightly left, place your right index finger over your right nostril and blow hard, vice versa to empty the right nostril. NB always check to make sure you are not going to coat a riding companion in your mucus.

What about the age old 'tried and tested' deep sniff into the back of your throat, a quick qqkkkwwwooooqqqkkkxxxxxx into your mouth (best spelling of how I think coughing it up sounds) then a simple gob into the hedgerow?
