www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk seem to offer the cheapest prices on the internet on Dawes touring bikes. Does anyone have any experience of using them? Are they any good.

P.s. before you tell me that I should go to my LBS. I did, and am very happy with their service, but my crash just before xmas has probably written off my Galaxy and I would rather save a few hundred quid on the replacement.

OP,

Is your Galaxy frame bent?

Its got a dent (say 10p size) on the tube that comes down from the saddle to the bottom bracket and I think its also out of alignment. The forks also needs replacing. LBS is still waiting for price of new ones as Dawes have been shut over xmas

they aren't a big shop - just some LBS somewhere but they've just got a bigger web presence than they can handle

The do have an LBS shop on Pemberton Road in WIgan, tellingly it always seems to be a very old fashioned bikes & prams kind of place.
