Should do.
The caveat is that "automatically identify the type of device" may not know what a Garmin is. If that gives a problem, I'd expect it to just be a slower 0.5A charge current rather than a stopper.
The Garmin battery is 1000mAh, so I'd guess you would be able to charge about 6 times

Would it be as many as 6 times? Got a good rating out of so many reviews and stuff.4 and a half stars.
