Hi all,
I have been looking at entering some cycling events in the coming months. One that has come across my mind is the Maxifuel Longest Day Sportive on the 15th April as I am back at my parents that weekend. There are two distances; 90km and 180km. I could do the 90km at my current fitness level but I am massively tempted by the challenge of the 180km. I can currently do 40miles or so pretty comfortably (haven't yet tried further but will do) and was wondering if 6 weeks is long enough to get fit to slog through the 180km? I would start doing my commute via bike everyday (20 mile round trip) and at weekends I will pretty be much able to do a ride a day. It looks as though it will be my second event behind the Meon Valley Riser which is not as long though.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
