Hi all, I'm stuck in a hotel in Lagos in the rain and have just taken a call from a very distressed 13 y.o. Gti Junior back home; his Xenon derailleur has just snapped clean through at the main pivot. From the pics he has sent it looks like the body is actually plastic. He has managed to remove it and the gear hanger, which is bent so I have told him to go to the LBS on Monday and order up two new hangers.
The bike is pretty old, we got it for 80 quid so don't want to be throwing new parts at it, especially as it gets chucked around a bit.
In my box of bits I have old LX and XTR mountain bike derailleurs. I've been reading up on the web and I think these might work with the Campy Xenon shifter, there's something about a "fix" for the cable clamp, which effectively alters the cable pull ratio slightly and enables them to work together.
Whaddya think?
