The campag version of this bike was my first road bike, they didnt provide shimano versions then, something about loyalty to Italian brands...anyway, I really love this wee bike, it's partly responsible for me getting hooked on cycling, I have 3 bikes now and even started racing last year, its my winter trainer now but still my favourite. Each to their own ref. bikes but I've enjoyed this one, it's not the usual Cannondale/Spesh/Giant and you may well get a different recommendation from each member on here.

I have a Wilier Mortirolo - it's a dream to ride, and very comfortable for long distances.

A member called nick_g picked up a barely used Wilier a little while back, was very happy with it. I can't recall the spec, perhaps search for his posts

Had my test ride this morning. Very nice bike, so now have a really difficult decision to make. Feel like I need to try the Defy 1 before I make my mind up.

Yes, I bought the Wilier Montegrappa. Awesome bike I must say and very nice to ride. I was lucky though and as.said, I got it asecond hand at a great price.

Cache and Willier make and sell rather fewer bikes than the World's largest manufacturer - less buying power, fewer units upon which to turn a profit

Maybe look at the whole spec, see what's better - wheels, tyres, saddle?

I've had a good look at the specs but unfortunately I don't have the experience to know the differences between the various components? I've got a month to make up my mind so will investigate further.

Go with the one that tugs at your heart strings, if you can afford both, don't choose tHe cheaper one if it doesn't speak to you, you'll only regret it. Of course you might love the cheaper one more

Why not post links to the two bikes so more experienced members can comment on the specs
