Hi,

I received my Diamondback Contra 2013 today, its a nice bike, there are probably better ones but its what I could afford and its ok, but I don't like the tyres, I thought they would be a bit wider, its a personal thing, just what I like, anyway does anyone know whats the widest tyre I can safely put on this bike? There is plenty of clearance between the forks.

I wasn't sure what info I needed so I got whats written on the tyre and the only thing I know about the wheels is :-

Diamondback doublewall “FP700” rims on alloy 32H QR hubs, with Schwalbe CX Comp 35C tyres

The side of the tyre says 35-622(28x1.35-700x35C) HS369

Any help would be appreciated thank you.

You are Carlos Fandango and ICMFP!

As long as you have enough clearance between the forks and at rear between the lower swing arm you could upgrade to 700 x 40C with no problems. Anything bigger like 700 x 45C you may have you try these first as that is a wide profile tyre for a hybrid bike.
