Ok, what are the widest tyres that will fit within a Van Nic Ventus, Easton EC70 forks.
I've tried 28c gatorskins and they rubbed the forks.
Help.....

Loch side.
One measurement saves a whole lotta guessing.

I have a Ventus and anything bigger than 23mm doesn't work - at the moment I have cheapie Schwalbe Luganos - used to be called Blizzard. When I get round to changing it'll need a low-profile 23mm

Updated......One measurement would help but not all tyres are what they state they are.
I currently run 25c Luganos but I'm doing tour of the black country(graven/cobbles etc) and wonder if I'm in for a puncture tastic time.....

Always remember it could be risky if you fit the largest tyre's that you can with minimal clearance, it could be ride over if you break a spoke, buckle a wheel etc and your not able to straighten your wheel to stop it rubbing on your frame. I was riding 25mm on my Madone and even though there was a slight margin of clearance, it would not have been enough if something had gone wrong so I stick to 23mm on it now despite preffering 25mm.

Another problem I encountered which shook me up, was on a long slow climb, I suddenly stopped dead which nearly put me over the bars, the cause was a stone that had stuck to my tyre and jammed in the forks just below the brakes stopping the wheel turning. I often wonder what would happen if I was going faster and it happened, would the stone fly off the tyre with centrifugal force, or be dragged through the forks, possibly damaging the frame, or would it stop me dead causing me to do an aerobatic display over the bars, this thought also made me stick to 23mm.

... perhaps I should have added that the front fork clearance is rather less than the rear ... and the jamming/over the bars issue worries me too - hence 23mm!
