Wide MTB type shoes

As follow up to my earlier thread
I want to get some shoes - SPD for road and gentle off road - and able to walk a little
would prefer a wide fitting
Normal shoes I am 7 1/2 or 8, but in wide fitting even 7 is comfortable

These are my first clipsless, and I even have pedals to get yet
Don#t want to spend a lot
Any recommendations?

Specialized are good for the wider foot.
Bromley Bikes in SE London carry a range.

Nothwave are also good for a wider fit.

Sidi's do a wide version of most of their shoes - look out for the Mega versions.

Specialized concept store Kingston, there's also Evans near and sigma across river for higher end. Giant in twickenham have shoes too. Probably moores as well. Central London, the world is your oyster!

I have North Wave Mission shoes which are good for wide feet. They are very comfortable for walking. Wiggle have the 2012 model on sale at the moment and you can return them FOC is you pick the wrong size.

I've had Northwave and Specialized for my extra-wide size 6 1/2s. On Your Bike, now just behind Southwark Cathedral, have a very large selection of shoes.
