Wide, high-volume shoes for touring

I have a wide, short foot with a high instep and wear Sidi Dominator 5 Mega. I'm looking for a pair of shoes for touring and I see Lake makes shoes in Wide width and the Lake MX101 looks like it may be what I'm looking for.

Can anyone here compare the volume of the Sidi Mega and Lake Wide?

Spesh BG are pretty wide. I wear them.

This reminds me of a chap I worked with a few years back.
He had trouble getting his width fitting, so went to a Clog maker who made him a pair of cycling shoes with wooden soles.
They were pretty good. Stiff as a board.
Leather upper with all fancy stitching.

Another option is SPD sandals, some folk use them all year round and they are the ultimate in adjustability.

These are a nice wide (think Specialized) fit. Still need to go a size up though which I found out after ordering when the size up was out of stock. They look great too.
