Why the massive price hike for cable sets?

Was just about to order an XT gear cable set. These were £7.99 last time I looked. Now they are £19.99 - some places more than that! Anyone have any idea what's going on?

******g ***l! Sorry, I tried but failed. SRAM 8 speed cassette (as used on my cross bike): gone up £10 in a few weeks.
