Saturday morning raining and foggy, what to do.

I`ll got to the local LBS to have a look at some road bikes as want a new bike for next season, come out of shop 1 hr later more confused than when I went in.

Bike shop showed me numerous bikes in my budget either in the flesh or can be ordered.

2011 Pinarello FP1 Shimano Tiagra
2011 Scott S20 (Really like this in either compact or Triple).
2011 Bianchi Via Nirone Veloce
2011 Specialized Allez Comp
2010 CB Torino 10spd

Now can`t decide really like the Scott.

just buy the one you like

give as many as possible a test ride first though - you might change your mind after riding it!

I really fancy something Italian but the Scott is £1199 and comes with some good equipment, the Claud Butler was full Carb on was a nice bike but how long it would last I don`t know. The Scott is available in either compact or Triple, there are numerous big hills around my area so Triple may come in useful, has anyone had any experience with Scott bikes and also Triple setup on a road bike.

I have a Bianchi Via Nirone 2010 ultegra, I love it. These are uber comfortable, the flip side of that is the riding position is not very "racy" but it does make a fine steed for sportives. I suggest you try and get a test ride on as many bikes as possible, with a proper fitting session if at all possible. A better bike may feel worse as a result of not being adjusted for you correctly. Another bike you might want to try is an Orbea Aqua with 105 gearing. these are bang on your price and totaly lovely to ride.
