Why can we not upload images from our computers?

Hi to Admin or whoever can deal with this (Old Chestnut,I'm sure).
Why please is it not possible to upload images straight from my PC from My Documents/My Pictures into a post on the forum?
It is so much easier to just go straight into ones own PC and pull images straight off and upload onto a forum/site.
I have used Shrink Pictures Image Resize tool on other forums that I subscribe to and abide by their maximum uploaded sizes.

It is possible. Just click on the 'Upload a file' button and browse to where you've got the image stored.

The button is down the bottom, on the right, next to the 'Post Reply' button

You may need to post a resized copy pf ypur selected image - the server doesn't like big files.

Thank you Gary E & mickle. Specsavers next. I have already re-sized for other forum purposes but thank you for the warning.
