well i got my bike today, did a little trip to visit mum n dad, dad got on but said he thinks his cycling days are long gone , he's 74 lol( and show off the beast ! fitted the lights and gel saddle cover- cycle computer has beat me tho ! (needs a 3mm gap between magnet and sensor, which is impossible) very pleased with it tho, bigger than i expected when i actually rode it but that may be imagination. just had to share

Well done and I know exactly how you feel. I only started cycling 7 weeks ago after a lapse of about 25-30 years. It was quite thrilling. It won't be long before you are finding any excuse to ride that bike!! I had problems with my 1st cycle computer for the same reason, so changed it to one from Halfords (I know that word is swearing on here but...!) no probs fitting that one...it has been a godsend having that computer,it has given me a lot of motivation.
Keep going, it won't be long before you're hooked

Fantastic news. Place the sensor for the computer as close to the wheel hub as you can - this decreases the gap between fork and spokes. If gap is still too much use an old inner tune segment or even enough tape wrapped around the stem will help the sensor to get close enough to the magnet.

Best of luck and enjoy your cycling. I would warm against gel covers though as they can move about a little too much especially as your distances increase.
