Which Shoes??

Im after some MTB shoes that look the part as well as perform well on long distance bike rides. Lightweight comfortable and nice looking. Budget max £100. Thanks,

I have Shimano Sonoma, which look like this...

The flat sole makes them comfortable off the bike, although the cleats are not very recessed so the metal does touch down. I like velcro, i saves me having to take the wife with me everywhere to tie my laces.

The Shimano Tahoe and the Primo have a more aggressive sole pattern, the Tahoe is like this...

The Sonoma are designed as a commute / all-day shoe. They are not as good for more extreme MTBing if there is a chance that you'll be walking because the ground is too rough to ride. But they have a more office / city friendly sole / tread pattern.

That's the theory, anyway.

Another +1 for the BG sports I regularly cycle long distances in them and find them very comfortable indeed and as they are stiffered soled they are very efficient to pedal with and like said there is also dearer models available.

I use these for my commute bike and like them. They are good solid and comfortable shoes.

I'm very comfortable with it, I also it for running.

blimey. I manage a 50m run in transition for triathlons but could not envisage real running.

I also have 2 pairs of Taho shoes which are excellent and a little less obviously cycling shoes if in the pub etc

I have a pair of Specialized which are very comfy. Worth noting if you are ordering on-line that I had to buy a whole 2.5 sizes bigger than my usual shoe size!

I've had what looks like the "comp" version of the Specialized shoes for 5 years now and as much as usage hasnt been as high as it might, they have seen a fair few miles onroad and off and are still good as new! Very comfy shoes, highly recommended.
