Im sure i read that Halfords would source a bike of your choice? Don't have to stick to just what's available instore.

halfords will source one or at least find the nearest one local to you after them. this happend when I bought my road comp. The bike itself I find is very good. just get it boxed and build it yourself......halfords mounted the bars the wrong way round on mine.

Don't think there's much to seperate them spec wise.
It comes down to which one fits you best. You should really try and at least sit on each of the bikes.

I've got a Trek 1.2 (forebear of the 1200) and I know the fit is completely different to the Allez. I originally wanted the Allez, but it just didnt "feel" right when I tried it, the Trek fitted me perfectly.
