Which new bike?

Hello all,

I want to buy a new road bike but dont know what I should be looking for.

What are the key things to be looking for?

I am looking to pay around £350 - £500.

I don't want to sound too stupid, but what makes the Decathlon Btwin Triban 3 better than the others? (Just so i can get a better understanding)

Lighter, better components, carbon fork, cheaper and from a shop that knows how to put a bike together

It got 92% in this month's Cycling Active - 20/20 for value for money...try to get a copy

And it's red

You have posted one bike that is £500, that is to some extent in a different field and there may be other options with Sora etc (e.g. Decathlon to a Triban 5)
