I've no experience with any of those lights, they all seem a little underpowered for my liking. I have a cateye EL220 that has been relegated to a drawer of abandoned bike bits, it proved to be useless for cycling in the dark, and have since upgraded to using two RSP asteri3's (3Watts each) on one bike and an exposure race on another bike.

+1
those lights are not much use on unlit roads, you really need something like a hope vision 1 , or if like me your tight look at the magicshine lights which are very bright( i use one) or the newer xml t6..

well ive stripped my headlight down and stripped the switch down as the button doesnt return back out when its pushed so hopefully should fix it if not i will create a diy switch lol pays off having a dad who is a auto/visual engineer if it still dont work i may go for the smart Lunar light.

I have the forerunner to the 520 (the 510 funnily enough) its a bit bulky (needs 4 AA's) its reasonably bright but lack a flashing mode. I do tend to use it however as par of a set when cycling in the pitch black. I've also an older Smart Bspoke Lunar and much prefer its shape and size (only takes 2 AA's) and has a flashing mode, drivers seem to take more notice of it. The Smart is marginally less bright than the Cateye but as I say its an older model, IHTH.

My guess is it probably won't be bright enough on it own but let us know how you get on, it looks like a nice unit for the price :-)

I cycle on the roads at night, some of which are well lit, some less well lit and some completley unlid so I use my Lupine Tesla 5. Great light but beware it can blind passing cars if turn up on full.

Keep in mind this is an 8 second exposure.
No idea how that affects the photo, all i know is that they are very very bright and compared to the OPs lights they let see you a dang sight more .
The photo does not state the exposure time so i wondered where you get your information from?
