Hi,

my Ridley Xbow is fitted with Challenge Grifo 700 x 32 Cross tyres and I'd like to pick up a few spare inner tubes but I'm unsure exactly what size to go for. Many of the inner tubes describe a range of widths, eg 700 x 28-37. So I'm assuming this particular tube would fit, but am I better getting an exact (32) size?

Also if possible I'd like to pick up a bulk pack 5+ of the tubes as opposed to buying them one at a time, simply to keep the costs down.

Thanks in advance.

Being where I am, (Midwestern US), all I see are tubes with ranges, nothing specific. I seem to get along alright.

I always bulk buy tubes in 5's or 10's, it's always good to have spares. Size wise, they only come in size ranges, just check the actual width is not too wide if you want a 'lively' feel whilst riding.

Always best to buy a tube where the range is up to a couple of mil above the one you want. As an example i recently had a blow out and bought a couple of tubes where the range was from 21 to 32. the size i wanted was 25 but because there was so much 'spare rubber' I ended up nipping it when fitting so punctured it. I actually did it more than once. I then bought some tubes which were 19 to 25 and the difference in rubber was obvious. No problems fitting it and easy away.
