Hi All,

I'm looking for a recommendation for a good set of full length mudguards for my Hybrid bike.
Previously I had something similar to these (SKS Bluemels)

The small fixings that keep the mudguard in shape snapped bit by bit eventually leading to the mudguard rubbing badly off the wheels. In the end I had to remove them as I lost patience. They only lasted me a few months on very short commutes.

I was looking at something like these (SKS Chromoplastic)

Or would anyone have any other recommendations on a good set of full length mudguards that I can just put on and won't have any issues with them falling apart.

The wheels I have are 700 X23c

Thanks

I use SKS Chromos - wouldn't use anything else. Might be a little wide for 23c tyres - but if you'd rather have a dry backside than looks they're the way to go. Others will probably suggest raceguards. I bought a set in the past but had troubles fitting them due to the tyre clearance on my hybrid.

Thanks for the reply.

CRC do them in a Narrow 35mm fitment which I take it won't look too wide with 23c tyres?

I have normal SKS ones on my current Sirrus. I had chromoplastics on my previous bike, they were slightly twisted from the packaging annoyed me as they weren't straight over the front tyre!

It's a Carrera Gryphon Hybrid (Halfords). Great as a commuter bike
Ah... those have disc brakes, don't they? That is pretty important as the SKS guards will probably need some bending to get the arms around the calipers. Does it have mounting points for guards?

I think I have the older model which doesnt have disc brakes. I had the SKS Bluemels fitted previously but I found them very poor quality.
Going to order the Chromoplastics now
