I've tried a few lubes, did not like wax at all, and now use Finish Line Cross Country. I don't know if it's the best but it is good and it has worked well for me.

I use both of those. Wax is great if you've got a very clean chain to start with. The Pro Road is remarkable stuff, it really quietens down the drive train. I bought a job lot of lubes recently at significantly cheaper than Wiggle or CRC prices, delivery is £6 but I bought quite a few bottles to spread the cost of the postage.

Here - http://www.cyclebasket.com/products.php?plid=m5b26s252p0 Roughly half price on the 120ml bottles!

Finish Line Wet (a.k.a. Cross Country) for non-dry weather.
Finish Line Dry for those 3 dry weeks of the year.

Mr pig; yes he's our pride and joy, he lives in the house with us. We do not have a dining room as this is his bedroom, we have not been abroad for four years as the better half will not leave him in boarding. Many of our friends think we're insane, but each to there own.

The waxy type is what is on your bike when new, but it will quickly collect dirt and clog particularly around the jockey wheels I find. Stick to the more liquidy ones unless you want to thoroughly clean your drivetrain very regularly.

We would like a house rabbit but we don't have suitable room/space for one. Our rabbits live in a large run (about 10' X20') in the garden. Our TV room window looks into the run so we can watch them from inside the house but because they're not used to being handled much they don't like it. Try to catch them and they dive into their burrow! A house rabbit would be nice.

The waxy type is not on a new chain -it is a heavy gauge sticky stuff....

I use a load of stuff - the wax ones are good in dry conditions and clean, the wet stuff is brill in wet weather, but I am now of the opinion the 'dropper' bottles are far better than aerosols... you just drop lube on the rollers. Much cleaner use, less waste etc..etc.... Takes a minute or two longer to apply...but it works better.

Only if you like constant hoovering and cleaning, still not having holidays abroad gives me more time on the bike.
