Enjoying my cycling and looking for a heart rate and cadence computer. Using cyclemeter on phone at the moment and like the downloadability and uploading of routes. Battery not good enough for the longer rides I will be doing soon, have a couple of 100 mile events planned.

Suggestions please, all is new to me, important things I guess are cadence, heart rate, up/ downloadabilty. Garmin 705 looks nice but costly, cateye V3 maybe? I do like my stats etc so the ability to analyse the data after would be nice.

Bryton Rider is worth a look, HERE, still pricey, but when Merlin have stock they are quite a lot cheaper than anywhere else.
I'm loving mine

Maybe the Garmin Edge 500, I think there around £185, including cadence sensor and heart rate strap. Plus it has the ability to have courses downloaded onto it to follow.

Arrived today, been setting up the screens for ages! I guess I'll get used to it, there's a lot on there.

Hopefully bike arrives tomorrow, but I'm away lecturing for 4 days so can't ride it till next week :-(

Ok, so I got the Bryton 35 with cadence and HRM,

Took it out today for a ride, with Iphone in pocket to compare. 27 mile ride, Bryton says about 25, so distance and avge speed all wrong.
Doesn't always upload / download to their website, and although support have been helpful, I think the product is not really ready for release. To get the distance wrong is pretty basic! When it is downloaded it shows the right readings on the graphs.

I'm sure the updates will come thick and fast, I do like the HRM, part of things, will help me plan training greatly, and there is loads of info on the thing, just a lot to wade through to make it work.
