Having read the WD40 thread and the general opinion that it is not good as a chain lube, then what is best?

I have been using ACF50 but it is a bit OTT for a bicycle chain, and today I took my chain off to clean it and found that all sorts of gunge had attached to it (and the derailleur cogs, rear cassette and font chain rings). All have now been cleaned in diesel (don't know if that is good or bad, but it works a treat!). I would prefer to use a lighter lube that does not attract so much gunge. What about GT85?

Cleaning your chain in diesel is an old trick, gets it nice and shinny again

Finish line web lubes are pretty much the dog's balls..

Finish line pro road ceramic. One small drop on each roller, sorted

+10..

Also get a SRAM quick link for your chain which will make removing and replacing it for cleaning and lubing soooooo easy .

Also also get a chain wear indicator if you want to avoid lubing a knackered chain which will cause your sprockets and chain rings excessive wear.

+ 10 more, however the last time I was looking for it I couldn't find it, it seems to have been superseded by ceramic wet lube and ceramic dry lube

It does look like it. i really like the ceramic wet lube

Oil and frequent application of the Mickle method with Baby-wipes.

Prolink, little and often - use Luber or similar to apply, 'Mickle method'. Search forum, see similar threads below. £4.99, two bikes, 3years, 1000s of miles, clean, no wear, still some left .......
