Hello

Stupid question, I need a new cassette and quick release stems for my Triban , what size of each will I need?

Cassette - any Shimano/SRAM compatible 8 speed one should work. I'd not go over about 28t at the big end as I don't think your rear mech could handle more than that.

As for 'stems' - The stem is the bit of the bike that links the bars to the fork steerer, I've never seen a QR one nor would I want one. I'm going to assume you mean wheel skewers in which case have a look either in decathlon themselves (their normal QRs are fine) or have a look for skewers for road wheels somewhere like Wiggle or ChainReactionCycles

The only reason I was going 12-26 was due to the one on there at the moment being 12-25, will it make a big difference, excuse my naivety.

The 12-26 will give you a slightly lower gear than your 12 -25, the 12-28 a lower gear than that. If you live in a hilly area and would like lower gearing go 12-28 otherwise you should be fine.

I've been climbing all week in Cornwall without going on the little ring so I should be fine with the 12-26.

Thank you ever so much for your help, not sure if my bike would still go forwards without you guys.
