I am setting up a Ridgeback Panorama Deluxe as a tourer and installing an MTB chainset (Deore 36-36-26).

Frame is https://www.biketart.com/bikes-c1/frames-c33/ridgeback-panorama-deluxe-frameset-p12171

BB is 68mm and this model https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/bottom-...-hollowtech-ii-bottom-bracket-english-thread/

This site reckons two spacers on right one on left. http://off.road.cc/how-many-spacers-install-bottom-bracket-68-73-shimano-hollowtech-sram-gxp

Once in place the chainset visually looks a long way out, but I have not yet got the correct wheel in place (wheels arrive later)

Any comments or ideas?

wheels are disc brakes but sure that makes no difference!

No in depth technical knowledge here, bar using them for the last 10yrs, but 2 on the right, 1 on the left is standard with HT2 MTB cranksets and BBs and 68mm shells.

You’ll need to have a look at the chain line, when you’ve got the actual wheel and cassette in place, and it depends how big the spacers are, but 2 x 2.5mm spacers on the drive side, and 1 x 2.5mm spacer on the NDS, usually works.

Usually 2 on drive side for mountain bike but if your putting a mountain bike crankset on a road bike frame then it's 1 on the drive side to get the same chain line.
As already stated its best to measure your chain line first.
