Which bottle cage?

Just done a search and went through 15 pages without anything definitive

Which cage do people recommend for under a tenner?

I have a cheap tortec aluminium cage but my bottle rattles off the top part. It was that loud I thought something was loose on the bike and went through checking all the usual suspects till I found the culprit.
I've put some foam and wrapped it in electrical tape but thought I should get something a bit sturdier.

Liked the look of the Elite Custom Cage but not sure if my bottle would rattle like the tortec one

Blackburn stainless. The Alloy ones always end up marking your bottles. Some of the cheap plastic ones work well, but don't look too good.

Tackx Tao are an alternative, work well for me and you see them on pro's training bikes too. Light at 39 gms.

Hi, I have a couple of those Elite custom cages and they are great.. fairly light, robust
Bottles are a nice tight fit, the band that connects the arms expands so whichever bottle you use should be snug
Check out " absolutecycles" on ebay and you can get them for £8.95 inc p&p

Can you confirm the bottle doesnt rattle in the cage?

I've had 3 differnt bottle types and also a 1/2 litre aluminium flask for the winter rides in the cages with no rattles, no movement.
Cant see you having any problems with them to be honest

My Podium doesn't rattle in one of these, can get 3 for a tenner if you so wish

I have just bought two of these for my new bike and the bottles are a lovely snug fit. I cannot say if they remain snug over time though.

But that's 6 grams more, 12 for two cages! And the pros don't use them!

I have actually noticed that for bottle cages, the cheapest are only a little heavier than the most expensive carbon jobbies. A huge number of products are then in the middle ground and offer a little more in bottle-security and style but are almost all heavier.
