Where to buy wheel components in the UK?

Hi all,

I'm hoping to have a new pair of wheels built up soon bit none of the places I've looked carry the spokes or nipples that I'm after in stock.

Can anyone recommend a shop (either on line or "real") which has a good range of spokes and nipples?

In particular I'm after some DT Swiss Aerolite spokes and some DT Swiss aluminium nipples (in violet!) Last time I bought some I seem to remember it being much easier to source the components!

Hi all,

In case anyone is interested and finds this topic via search, I found that Just Riding Along .com seem to have lots of good kit at pretty good prices.

Has anyone had wheels built by them before? I had mine done by merlin and they're fantastic but I'm tempted to give these guys a try.

I've heard of them, but couldn't comment on quality. Perhaps you could do us all a favour and report back in this thread when you get the wheels? Hope it all works out.

It does seem to be difficult to find a good selection of spokes online. I usually buy mine from SJS Cycles. They have a decent selection of double butted, but not so much in the way of bladed spokes. When I've needed something more fancy, my local bike shop has been able to get them for me within a few days. Even if it's not something that they normally stock, they'll be able to get it from the distributor. DT Swiss are distributed by Ultimate Pursuits, or Sapim by Chicken. In fact, although you can't really buy direct from them, you can shop for parts on the Ultimate Pursuits web site and have the bits delivered through a local bike shop.
