I don't post much on here, so forgive my ignorance, I have been pushing quite hard for the last 6 weeks averaging 100 miles a week, my legs are constantly sore, not so sore I can't carry on as normal, but my question is really for people that commute all year round, does the pain ever go away?

I ride most days either before or after work, varied routes from 7 miles to 22 miles, I don't feel pain on the bike, just a dull throb in my thighs when walking, I've also noticed that my hybrid cannondale throws me about a bit on bumpy bits of Tarmac, when I was riding slower I didn't notice this, my averages on a ride are 14 mph on a stop start route and 16 mph on a fast flowing route, I don't know if the riding position is really suited to fast ish road riding, who knows eh

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Are you stretching out afterwards?
My legs tighten up if i do not although i used to have really flexible legs ( could do splits on 2 chairs ) so i notice it more i suppose.

Try to mix up your rides. If you go hard one day, go easy the next and spin your legs in an easy gear. I've read that the worst thing you can do is ride medium-hard all the time.

A day or two of rest every so often is worthwhile. I find I need it to let the muscles recover a little and I feel great when I get back on the bike, if you have to ride every day then as has been said ride at a lower tempo for a day.

sounds like you need to factor in some "recovery rides" = 30min nice easy, spin the pedals with little effort
