Unless it's a merino base layer and they can fleece you even more
For anyone who can get to Kendal, all the Icebreaker brand trade samples of their merino base layers are being sold off cheap at the Kendal Mountain Film Festival this weekend. They're in the marquee outside the Brewery Arts Centre. (Only Men's large and Women's medium).

'Vest' can refer to all manner of undershirt type things. A base layer generally has some properties (wicking etc.) that make it more suitable for strenuous activity.

.......make it more suitable for strenuous activity

My old man used to work 12+ hour days, 6 days a week in a bloody foundry. Wearing a string vest under his shirt; how much more strenuous do you want to get?

Soft git... probably thinks cycling is "hard work".... that's what he did on his day off

vests are good. M+S long sleeved thermal vests see me through the winter, and cost £12 each - none of your fancy dan base layers thankyou very much!

Is this anything to do with the wearing of your wife's underwear thread? ;)

The mid layer is when they fleece you, after that you have to shell out.
