Hi im new to this road cycling ( 7 months commuting thats all) used to MTB and disk brakes so this idea of replacing rims/wheels is new to me i currently on my stock rims which are doing me fine
current ones ( copied from bikes specs)
Rims:
Mavic CXP22
Front Hub:
Forged alloy Hub, sealed bearings, 28 hole, for J bend round spokes
Rear Hub:
Forged aluminium, 32 hole, double sealed ball bearings, cassette, Quick Release
i have currently done about 6500 odd miles on them and the wear indicator still looks ok still but as i commute to save ££ and am on a tight budget monthly i'm looking for a pair to save up for and buy so i dont have a massive outlay when they need replacing. so far my research has found these few just wanted to ask your opinions

http://www.hewittbikefitting.co.uk/shop/products/id/9000000000227.htm - like these as would match bike red frame (vain i know but gotta look good as you commute)
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=76730 - these seem v v cheap and great if they do the job
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=76732 seem similar but more expensive better made? lighter?
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=82031 seem a fair price but still not many spokes? ( spokes = pothole strength? ability to stay true?)

I was looking at similar wheels when I changed the wheels on my Secteur. I looked at some of the ones you have listed and decided to up my budget slightly to get some Mavic Aksiums. This was mainly based on positive reviews online, what some friends recommended, cartridge hub bearings and looks, although they are not as bling as Fulcrum Racing 5's. I am around 14 stone and the rear wheel that my bike came with (Alexrim) was rubbish, constantly going out of true after only a month of use. The Aksium's despite the much lower spoke count have been faultless in every respect.

Shimanos r500s are pretty decent. I got a set with my roubaix, that got some new wheels and the r500 went onto my commuting secteur. Only done about 500 miles on them and still true, and thats with 15 stone of me and a gym bag on the rack. Cheap too, especially of yo can find last years.

+1 on the R500's...Had mine just over 12 months, never trued them, still straight, except I'm heavier than Paul...I'm 18st, and they're fine. although I am upgrading to handbuilts soon but the R500's will be going on my winter bike.

I just bought the R501s from Merlin Cycles for £75. Pretty good wheelset for that price.
