would anyone mind highlighting the differences between these two Mavic wheelsets? ive looked around the web a bit but cant seem to locate anything. the two sets of wheels are on racers and i want to sell one bike but keep the wheels that are more suited to me. ive included photos,

Is that not two photos of the same wheel?

photo for the other wheel below. this one a mavic mv40 has a flatter part to the wheel where the spokes attached compared to the mavic sub (top) which has a deep curve .

You can swop the wheels around you know. You don't say anything about the hubs. Only you know which wheels are best suited to you.

Can't see properly but the first is an Open SUP from the 1990's and the second looks to be an Mavic MA2 from a similar period.

Both reasonably good road rims but not much difference so I would look at the hubs instead.

Is the MA2 a 36 hole wheel or is it the camera angle?

thanks i dont know anything about hubs yet lol

so i should keep the first set? the mavic subs?

im trying to find out which wheels i like you know. ill like for sure all the high priced wheels but for now ive got a set of alex rims to compare with. and im 197lbs and six foot tall. so far ive had some rubino 28s out on trails and road. theyre impressive. the other two sets of tyres i have are both continental 23's (i think ill have to check) from the 90's by the looks of there states, one sets great one sets began bursting. the tyres with the mavic subs are the tyres which are breaking apart.

thanks for all your advice. i know i know nothing regarding cycles but my skin is moisturised thick and ive completed a slow 70 miles since yesterday. still this wont account for my mistakes lol. but this morning i had an upload prob with the pics which added further to my lack of professionalism.

it seems easy enough to switch the cassettes? ones 8 speed ones maybe 7 speed, ill have to check. both are shimano, ones 105, the other 600.

If you are heavy keep the 36 - if light then sell the 36. But check the hubs first.
