hi im new to cycling and am doing a coast to coast cycle charity ride next week 54 miles...

i have a 2013 giant rapid 1 which is fantasic but am looking for a little more speed out of it.

i have bontrager race all weather tyres which are great for not getting punctures, would getting better wheels help.

got giant pr2 on at mo, an suggestions not mega money..

someone has got a pair of swiss side hidies for sale

If your wheels are ok, and your upto the ride, I wouldn't bother just for this one ride, unless you need to be saving time, having said that I got some RS10 the other week and they made about 1mph difference over the Weinmann XR18's that were fitted as standered .

If add you say you're new to cycling then training miles are most important, you could go for better tyres and make sure they are at the correct pressure for your weight. If you're new to it I wouldn't expect wheel upgrades to be noticeable.
