I have 2 sets of wheels, my lightweight aero Reynolds Alta Race summer wheels and my CXP22 on Ultegra winter/heavy duty wheels..

During the summer the Reynolds hub jammed so I've been riding lately with a front Reynolds and rear Mavic.
I noticed on Sunday that the Reynolds was suddenly out of true, so figured it was time to go all winter wheels and tyres, whilst swapping stuff around I noticed that the rear CXP22 has 2 splits around the eyelets on opposite sides of the wheel., so it's borked. Whatever pothole I hit that bent the front Reynolds possibly did the rear as well.

So, I'm mildly stuffed at the mo.

Question really is, is it worth getting another CXP22 rim onto the rear Ultegra hub. It's still silky smooth despite little maintainance. Some new balls and grease would probably work wonders.
They.ve probably done 10 to 15,000 miles

Or, should I send both hubs and upgrade to Open Pros and sexy dble butted spokes?

New pair Open pros on Ultegra hubs are around £270 at the mo, and that's a bit out of reach whilst daughter #1 is at Uni. It's an unexpected expense.

Who should I get to do the wheelbuilding? Any recommendations in the Oxford area?
I was thinking also of giving Pete Matthews/Harry Rowland a call.

Buy a new CX22 and replace the rim yourself. Worth it in the long run, especially if the hub is sound. Many options. A local LBS would be able to rebuild with new spokes and a rim, keeping the hub, quite cheaply.

It's been said many times before....but consider learning how do it yourself.
Start with this book.
With what you save on a professional job you can probably upgrade to a CXP33
