I had a go at truing my wheels yesterday, following advice on the Sheldon Brown site. Not having a tension meter, I used my keyboard. I tuned the front spokes to G natural, and it seemed successful, but this was actually less tension than it was built with. Is this ok, or should I tighten further?
Also, when I trued the rear, I tuned the non-drive side to G, then trued it. This resulted in the drive side spokes being looser, but when I read the instructions, the drive side should be tighter? (The drive side spokes were looser when I started) So should I go back and tension up the drive side so it's tuned to a higher note, and can anyone suggest which note(s) I should aim for on the rear. Wheels are 700c.

It's likely that now you have lost the dish in your rear wheel and may have also affected the roundness. It may be better to take the wheel to an experienced wheel-builder.

I must have been suffering from brain-fade, I checked and the tension are the right way round
The rear rim is central wrt rear stays to 0.1mm, and the rims are true after 100 bumpy miles this weekend, so looks like all is well! Has to be better than before, the spoke tensions were all over the place.
