wheel fixing on trainer

Hi all, can anyone tell me if you can put a old bike without quick release on a turbo trainer.It seems all the pics i have seen show a quick release set up.
Also if this is the case then is it easy to convert a wheel to quick release

The depth of the bolts are not deep enough to hold you into the trainer.

GO to your LBS and they can change the axle to a QR one.
