Hi

I am looking for some help with converting wheels from one of my bikes to the other and vice versa

1st Bike is a BMC Roadmachine with SRAM Components and a set of fast forward wheels

https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Fast-Forwa...rake-Carbon-Clincher-Road-Wheelset_263813.htm (Sram XDR)

2nd bike is a Bianchi Oltre XR3 with Shimano Ultegra
https://www.bikesheduk.com/product/117453/bianchi-oltrexr3cvdisc-ulteg-50-34r418/

I want the FFWD wheels to be on the Bianchi and the Bianchi wheels on the BMC

Which free hub would I need to put the FFWD on the Bianchi and the Shimano wheels on the BMC?

Thanks

Not really qualified to answer this, but I've always understood that SRAM and Shimano cassettes are compatible.

But of your two bikes, one is 12 speed and the other 11 speed. So you will need to swap the cassettes over. If one needs a new freehub, then so will the other.

Have you taken both cassettes off and proven 100%, that they are different?

Good luck

SRAM and Shimano 11 speed are compatible to the extent they use the same rear cassette and chains

sraM12 spd needs its own XDR hub body, which will be on the FFWD wheels.

You will need to get one that fits your "whatever" wheels on your Bianchi - i,e an XDR hub that is compatible with that wheel. You can then put the 12 speed cassette on it and put on the BMC

Unless the spline are different I think you can put the 11 speed cassette onto the XDR hub on the FFWD, but you need a 1.85mm spacer behind it. you can test this bit before parting with any cash for the other bit.
