I'boro
thinking of getting a powertap hub to fit campag then building a wheel
never done it before
could anyone give me advise as to whether to not bother or tips to make it easier please
i do all other bike maintenance myself but always shy away from wheel trueing etc
would like to end up with a decent wheel rather than a cheap wheel with a dear hub so any recomendations for the rim and spokes also would be helpful
looking at power hub with 24 spokes
thanks in advance for any answers

It isn't black magic, just simple mechanics. Lacing is easy and truing takes just patience and time with plenty of Youtube videos to help. You can't break anything and you can slacken off and re-true as many times as it takes. I went into building my first pair with just an article in Bicycling magazine for guidance, expecting to give up and hand them to someone else to finish off but I didn't need to and ended up racing on them for a couple of seasons.

Very satisfying too, go for it.

Given that, at present, you shy away from even truing a wheel, I think you may wish to get some practice truing a wheel eg on an old front one that you deliberately undo the nipples randomly and then try to get it back true
Then you might wish to consider building a front wheel first, and then consolidating the experience and modicum of expertise gained on building a rim onto your (expensive) powertap hub (with dishing). As @Smokin Joe says you can't damage anything, but just a suggestion.
