Wheel Aesthetics

Am about to purchase a new custom wheelset.

Rims only come in black. Spokes and hubs are available in black or silver. Am fond of silver but black rims with silver spokes and hubs might just be a little too weird - even for my colour proclivities.

Thoughts of the CC non-ninja aesthetes welcome.



(p.s. front fork is black and frame is green/white mix that I've grown to like - goes well with pink highlights!)

Black rims dictate black hubs in my book. Spokes can be either, but something about sparkly silver nipples set against black spokes and rims just gets my attention, so given the option I would personally go all black with chrome nipples.

Silver spokes all the way for me, I have some black rims with black spokes and hubs, but I think the silver spokes look better, I wouldn't do silver hubs with black rims though, I have some red hubs with silver spokes and black rims ! so my opinion can be ignored.

Actually I'm very disappointed that you've not invited discussion on the really important matters of spoke lacing pattern, butt lengths, spoke count and whether alu or brass nips.
