Hi, I have an Allez Sport 18 and am looking to upgrade the wheels to Fulcrum Racing 5's.

My current cassette is a HG50 9-speed cassette but I may be giving the old wheel away to a mate so will probably buy a new cassette.

I am looking at upgrading to a 6500 Ultegra 9 speed cassette which is suitable for the existing chain etc. Are there likely to be any issues with this?

Also, as well as the direct 12-25 replacement, they have a 12-27 option and I may want that extra bit - again, any possible issues here?

cheers
Jim

Straight swap, no issues at all.

The 1227 Ultegra cassette is the one I happily run on a Fulcrum 5 wheel with 9 spd Tiagra.

No problems at all - but the rear mech did need a very minor adjustment to accomodate the larger sprocket on big/big NB - I wouldnt run on this ratio, just wanted to make sure it didnt eat the rear mech if I inadvertantly selected it ;)

Should be an easy job, make sure the fulcrum wheels come with the shimano freehub, they take 8,9 and 10 speed cassettes. I used a shimano hg50-9 speed cassette on both wheelsets I have and no ajustment is needed when swapping between wheels.
