Whatsapp!

If l take WhatsApp off my phone, and then reinstall it will l still get access to old messages?
I keep losing it off my laptop and have had to link it all over again.
But now it's telling me l can only link 4 devices. I only have two but l think it's counting the laptop as more than one device because l have had to link it a number of times.
I thought reinstalling afresh on laptop and phone might get round it.
Or not. Suggestions ?

On the phone go to settings and chat. There:s a backup config in there, which can be automated.
Mine backs up to the google cloud, so when i install whatsapp on a new phone it finds the backup automatically.

Adding additional devices might complicate matters, can't help there.
