I can't remember if this has been done before.

I can recall a few things before the age of five but not very many. Is this normal?
What are your earliest memories and what age do you think you were?

Just curious!

Seeing my little brother (21 months younger) lying in a bit pram with me on a seat that used to sit on top. So I must have been about 3 or 4 years old.

I remember loads from before I was 5! It surprises me that some people don't..... Actually, I find that very bizarre if I'm honest!

I felt old by the time I started School, those jaded nursery blues!!

Anyway, my earliest memory was being in the pram and seeing what would happen if I threw a toy (a red toy car) out. My Mum picked it up so I did it again to see if the same would happen. It did, and I got into trouble for it, so I never did it again. I even remember the location!

Various memories of the house we lived in, in Newcastle. Difficult to put them in order, but we moved out when I was four.

I can remember every house I've ever lived in and I was only a toddler when we moved the first time. All I remember is the high fence.
My first proper memory is of the second house, when I was 2, and we had a large veranda and my dad was sawing wood and I played with the wood shavings.
I have an impressive long term memory but I go upstairs and forget what I went there for.

my memory is of a blue painted hotel with the entrance door set in the corner and my brother in a cot by the radiator in the bedroom.

my mum tells me it was our summer holiday to Crediton in Devon when I was 4 and a half - 1973

I clearly remember my first day at school in September of 1973 as well.

My first day at school clinging onto my mums leg and screaming because I didn't want her to leave me there.

First day at School?? If I am not mistaken, that actually happened last week!!

Seriously though, I just accepted things, but I do remember after a few weeks, declaring that I was 'fed up' (those primary 1 blues!!) and just wanted to go home!!

probably about 3 - 4 old of our 'old house' ( a room & a toy tank?) , though as I get older the (like many) memory fades...

Also as memory is linked to 'language' I now understand this as 'normal', i.e how do I 'encode' the words for the objects I saw, if I did not have the language to do this?
