The original prices are always inflated, I wouldn't pay attention to that. I doubt they'd sell a bike for £500 for more than 1 day a decade!

Otherwise, I'm not sure if there's any real difference, except for the colour. Best is to go and check them both out and see if there's any real difference.

As far as i can tell the TDF has points to mount a rack although its hard to tell by the picture and it has bigger chaintings at the front for a slightly higher gear ratio.The virtuoso has a compact chainring which is better if your new to cycling or live in a hilly area.
As for the prices as comic says ignore any "discounts " as they are just fluff as the bikes are permantly on "sale " and are priced about right.My Halfords bike came on sale , went up for about 1 month and has been permantly discounted to the original price ever since.
