why are they better than the rest ? its just a frame on wheels you can get equal components on other bikes or is it that the name ends in i or o makes them sound good , they do look good! but then so do fiats but you wouldn't buy one.

Italians have a sense of style. Ever looked the women in Milan?

hope they're better put together than italian cars.

on a tangant, why is it that so many pros suffer mechanical problems within yards of the starting ramp on tts? saw a few in yesterday's worlds. surely those bikes must have been gone over with a fine toothed comb?

There are of course good Italian bikes and not so good Italian bikes. Although I've not ridden every make of bike in the world the best one I have ridden is Italian. To put a finger on it and say "it's the best because............", is not possible for me but all I can say is that when I'm on the bike it feels great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well let's not call the kettle black. I remember descending a hill out in the country on my Velocette Thrucko. At night. All of a sudden the only illumination was starlight.

I may have the story a bit garbled here but apparently Harley-Davidson took over Ducati. Their engineers were amazed at the Ducati "product" - It was so uncomfortable they said, it was so idiosyncratic, it was so old-fashioned. They relinquished their investment soon after.

Fiats don't count as it doesn't end in i or o. This is the main reason for their comparative lack of success.

Must be the paint jobs doing it, most of the carbon Italian bikes come out the same factory as everyone else's, somewhere in Taiwan.
