Anyone any ideas what fattest tyres you can put on 700c wheels.

Trying to understand this, finding it confusing. Can any width of 700c tyre go onto any 700c wheel rim? I want the most comfortable journey ie the broadest tyre.

Depends on how much space you've got between

a) front forks
 rear chainstays/rear seatstays.

Its usually the chainstays that are the limiting factor.

If you're wanting comfort, then I assume you've got mudguards? If so these will limit you. Best to take it to the bike shop and see ehat they reckon.

No it depends on the rim. Pretty sure you can go up to 35's but also you need to take into account whether there is enough room for these to fit on your bike

My Hybrid came with 700 x 42 s fitted as standard, but i've changed to much narrower marathon plus. If you are anywhere round east yorks, you can call & collect the 42s i have in the garage. Not done many miles, but had a few p*******s on them so changed them promptly

It depends on your rims / how wide the chainstays are
A set of MTB 29er tyres should fit most 'hybrid' wheels.

2.35" wide (I've no doubt there are wider tyres available)

More or less. You will need a wider rim for wider tyres. You probably wont get away with fitting one of the monsters i've linked to above onto a narrow racing rim.
