Whatever happened to large flange hubs?

It seems almost impossible to get them (especially at a reasonable price) these days. I used to love the feel of wheels built with these. OK, I know the likes of Specialised produce their (heavy) Roval Pave wheels with them, but at one time you could get a reasonable quality pair from the likes of Sugino etc., not to mention the more upmarket brands such as Campag. Or am I just looking in the wrong places - an internet search hasn't brought anything suitable up.

Have you tried searching for track hubs?

They make a wheel feel more rigid and responsive, and lessen the fear of wheel collapse if you hit a REALLY big pothole - a bit of a harsher ride than small flange, but a small price to pay.

There's numerous track hubs available, but no good for a road bike as they of course will not take q/r skewers.
