There is no "don't have access to a computer" option. As a hospital porter it is deemed that I don't need access although it was once mooted whether I would be allowed to order the stores on line but it never came to anything.

Got told off for watching web cam for my ski holiday running most of the day, but otherwise so long as the work gets done.

I have internet access at work, but it is heavily restricted and half the time it doesn't work anyway.

Bit of a hard one, our company policy is quite restricted with alot of websites blocked, however being in a wee office they can not (or will not spend the money to) set us up to go through the proxy servier that does the monitoring so we have unrestricted access and it is not really monitored.

I try and restrict myself to only going onto forums like this at lunchtime but sites like BBC etc I see as fair game.

My posting rate has declined massively recently owing to having a secondment to a managerial post. Internet is on but I'm not home a lot of the time. I'm sure you're all coping without me. As our organization relies on the internet for delivering its services then it would be daft for it to ban us using it.

Technically I'm not allowed (I have no reason whatever to use a computer in my job), but I have keys to the office, I know the alarm code and I know all the passwords for all the machines. And all the managers have gone home by the time I start work, and most of them don't mind me using the internet anyway.

It is heavily controlled and I can see this site but cannot comment back. I read it at lunch along with the BBC news site.
