morning beautiful CCers. who said i wouldnt get out much after the birth of my baby boy? I've managed 1 ride for each week of his existence so far! On the last ride though...I fell off. For the first time in 3 years! bent the mech hanger a bit and herein lies the point of my post...anybody tell me how to remove an Athena 11 deraileur? It's got a torx bolt which I have the tool for but the darn thing appears to be held by magic?! I can budge it & I don't want to bust anything by giving too much welly. Am I doing summink wrong or is it best left to LBS?

Probably best left to LBS for exorcism, there. If there are problems removing it, it may be due to some underlying cause the LBS may see every now and again, but would prove quite a poser to you and I.

probably best. My 20 second patience threshold may well result in snappage otherwise. It's rideable til then, just not perfect. I like perfect .

No magic, just seized I expect. My Centaur has the same torx and the application is the same as with the more usual hex bolts. Trust Campag to come up with the need for yet another tool! Once you manage to get it off, apply some grease to the thread before refitting to prevent recurrence.

Your post made me check my ride files - in the 8 weeks since my daughter's birth, I have managed 6 rides per week. Feeling rather smug now :becool: Eight races since she was born, so one race for each of her weeks! I hope she appreciates the efforts I am making!

6 rides a week?! Blimey. Even with the best will in the world, I struggle to ride that often, sans child, in the summer!
Chapeau!
