Last month I replaced the drivetrain on my MTB with a hub gear drivetrain (SRAM I-Motion 9). I now have the following partly used, but still functioning parts:

1 eight speed trigger shifter integrated with V-brake lever.
1 three speed trigger shifter integrated with V-brake lever.
1 front mech (Shimano Acera).
1 rear derailleur (Shimano Acera, 8 spd).
a couple of outer and inner brake cables.
1 22T ring
1 32T ring
1 slightly bent 42T ring
1 eight speed chain
1 eight speed cassette (11-30T)

As I have no use for any of this except the chain, I was wondering if there is anywhere that will take and recycle bicycle components. It seems a waste to throw it all out if someone could potentially have a use for them.

Any suggestions?

There are a few bike recycling charities about, they will use them. Failing that. as other have said, people will take them on here. I regularly hoover up discarded bits from mates and run a hack bike with them. I'll need an 8spd cassette before long, mine is tired to the point where a new chain slips so I've replaced the old chain and we'll do a while longer. Something will come up.

I have piles of bike junk in boxes, everybody needs a bits box. I've resurrected bikes from Freecycle using stuff out of the bits box and given them to friends.
