Not exactly another what saddle should I buy thread, but.......

I love the Charge Spoon. It's (for me) the perfect shape, size and firmness. Trouble is, the bloody stitching on the cover is rubbing holes in my bib shorts.

Can anyone suggest a saddle which is identical (or as near as possible) to the Spoon, but with a smoother, less abrasive cover.

I'd even considered having the cover replaced by an upholsterer, but the price is likely to be enough to keep me in shorts for quite a while......

If the stitching is destroying your shorts, then it seems like a serious design defect to me!

It's a slow process, but all of my bibs are wearing/holed in exactly the same place on the inner thighs. This matches up exactly with where the raised stitching sits on the saddle......

Prior to using the spoons I never had the problem with holey tights.

Perhaps it is an inevitable consequence of having such incredibly fat powerful and muscular legs!

I've just changed to a SDG Circuit, and although it's not the cheapest around , it is a thing of quality, beauty and supremely comfortable (according to my bum)

This all depends on your leg shape. People have mentioned this before, but in my case, I have thin inner thighs, so the stitching does not rub at all.

What about the Charge Knife?

It's the same saddle. don't tough the Knife, they snap in two if you use them regular. I've had two snap and Potsy has had one snap.

I moved to Selle Italia XR with cut out (less than £30) on the commuter - very similar flat profile to the Spoon. Got the Carbon SLR on the best bike.
