I bought this before Christmas and I'm in the process of rebuilding. I'd love to know what it is though. Yarp, I know it's part of a bike  and a Raleigh, possibly an 80's model but the respray has taken away any possible identification markings

If you have any idea of what type of hanger for the rear derailleur I need then I will take any advice given

Some bikes of that age used a rear mech that had a hanger attached, it had a slot in it so that it sat alongside the dropout, and the rear axle went through it.

yes, on those mega cheap bikes the hanger was attached to the rear mech

I don't want to upset you but that's a £99 special; the cheapest road bikes Raleigh ever produced - will be fine for pottering about on but I wouldn't spend too much fixing it up!

The Equipe, the Pulsar and the Pursuit all had the same frame just sprayed up different colours.

Zoiders, that's a bit of a con but clever marketing  Mine looks like it was resprayed yeterday!
They would make posh versions in 531 that might actualy differ in detail on the lugs, braze-ons and equipment

They would make high-tensile steel replicas as well sprayed up the same all using the same bog standard frame, hence the sneaky - same bike different colour scheme.
